Fresh fresh fresh! This is a live recording of last week’s Club KiNQ in Rotterdam. It’s a cut from the first two hours of a looong night, combining deep tech house and melodic techno.

Much is done on the integration with the KiNQ Facebook Fanpage, so everything is more social now This even includes the pics, which will be updated soon. Next to that, new schedule software is installed that allows you to subscribe to our calendar to never miss a gig again. Next week KiNQ will play at Diep Down together with Taras van de Voorde and the Flavourables, after a small sabatical..To celebrate, here’s the recording of Roger Young at the awesome Club KiNQ on a Detour in Mainz, Germany. It was a great night, in a cool tunnel somewhere.. The set is building up gradually, going crazy at the end. Maybe that had to do with the wodka?! On November 21st we organize a party together with our friends from Desda Deejays at Delft’s newest club Ciccionina. This underground club is definately a must see! And also music-wise it’s going to be cool! It all starts with the great funk vibe of Multi Moodswing, followed by a special house set by Roger Young. After that the main act, Jon Gracius, will do a pounding techno liveset with only own material. Tommy Tunne will continue the  vibe and mr A.Ka will end it all with some real powerfull tunes.

Tommy was very unlucky by drawing the shortest straw so that he needed to start the evening. This was a major disadvantage by the lack of people and the vibe that still had to be started. But with his freshly new vinyls he definitely managed to get it all going. After him one of our friends from D.E.M.O had to play, Alex Visser. He did a great solid performance, with cool steady and melodic tech house. Roger had to play third. With lots of friends to support him (thanks!) he did a cool but difficult set, with lots of percussions and a constantly uplifting vibe. At last Chally Cha Bana came up with some great instrumental deep techy stuff.

The jury had a hard time to come up with the final result, while all four deejays had performed at their best. Then the final results came:

4th with 92 points..Tommy Tunne..3rd with 102 points..Roger Young..2nd with only one half of a point more, 102.5.. Chally Cha Bana.. and 1st: Alex Visser with 105 points..

Bad luck! But Alex deserved it as a great deejay. After all this appeared to be the toughest semi final of all: if we had to play in one of the other three semi finals we could have been winning. Rogers 102 points were even more than ever before.. So don’t worry, we still got the good vibe going and you’ll definitely hear from us soon!

The 3rd of September, the last of the 4 semi-finals will take place @ the Bootleg DJ Café in Rotterdam. Roger & Tommy will meet each other and 2 other contestants in a battle for a place in the Big Final, Sat 6 Sept. Come and support us both, upcoming wednesday from 21:00 till 01:00. We’ll hope to see ya there! B-)

After winning the weekly final at the Bootleg DJ Contest lately, I had to show up at the monthly final yesterday. Drawing the middle straw this time caused me to be the second one to play. I was completely relaxed before and during my performance, which had a good effect on the set I did. And everybody was enjoying it with me, cool! :)

When I finished my set I was really really satisfied. But hearing my competitors (Patric and Eric Zwart) doing a great job also, I was pretty unsure about the final result.. But there it was: I won! With a quite big difference also

Yeah yeah! Yesterday I played at the Bootleg DJ Contest 2008 as well. After drawing the longest straw I had to wait 2 hours before I could start. My competitors (DJ Ruhl and DJ Mykaz) were performing pretty well so I became a bit nervous.. But once I got started I got into ‘the flow’ anyway!

So yesterday I had to show up at the Bootleg DJ Contest 2008 November Final. After pulling the shortest straw, I was going to be the first one to hit the decks. I had to compete against the 2 other winners of the week: E-Max & Desmond Camps. It was a tough race in which E-Max did a great job and beat me with only half a point. Although quite disappointed, ending up 2nd with only a minor difference, there’s still a chance to become 1 of the 2 audience favourites (Thank you for the support!) which will compete together with the 10 winners of the month in the semi-finals in August 2008.

In the mean time, there’s still Roger Young! who has to battle Wednesday 19th for a place in the final of December. Try to be there to support him!

Tommy Tunne managed to win the first round in the Bootleg DJ Contest 2008 yesterday! He was the fourth and last dj to show up, and he did a great performance. Tommy’s fine choice of records helped the jury to make their final decision. The three competitors did great as well, so DJ Staas, Artech & Shawn: big up!

Tomorrow, Friday 30th, Tommy will compete in the monthly final. Go there to support him if you can! And we hope to publish the liveset as soon as possible…

Yes! We have finally reached the first milestone: our podcast has been played for more than 1.000 times now!
